CBS Sports Extends Brut Sun Bowl Broadcast Agreement Through 2009
NEW YORK, N.Y. (August 9, 2006) - CBS Sports has entered into a multi-year extension of its agreement to broadcast the Brut Sun Bowl, it was announced today by Michael Aresco, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS Sports and John Folmer, Sun Bowl Association President.
 The Brut Sun Bowl, El Paso's number one national attraction and the nation's second-oldest postseason bowl game, features teams from the Pac-10 and Big 12/Big East with the possibility of Notre Dame once during the deal. CBS Sports' affiliation with the Brut Sun Bowl, dating back to 1968, is the longest, continuous broadcast of a postseason football game, 38 years. “CBS Sports is pleased to continue its association with the Brut Sun Bowl,” said Aresco. “For nearly 40 years CBS Sports has featured the El Paso classic, and we look forward to broadcasting this event for years to come.” “We are delighted and privileged to enter into a new multi-year agreement with CBS Sports. This new agreement will carry our relationship beyond 40 consecutive years. We have a long and unique relationship with CBS Sports, thanks to very strong loyalty by both parties. We are honored and fortunate to have such a prestigious network as our partner,” said John Folmer, Sun Bowl Association President. The 2006 Brut Sun Bowl will be broadcast live on CBS Sports on Friday, Dec. 29 (2:00-6:00 PM, ET) from Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.
