A two-time first team All-Border Conference selection at tackle ... named first team All-American in 1948 ... anchored an offensive line that featured the nation's top rushing offense and the nation's leading rusher in 1948 ... originally came to UTEP as a halfback but was moved to tackle to utilize his speed ... lettered for four seasons for the Miners (1942, 1946-48) ... a well-rounded individual, served as student body president in 1948-49 ... drafted by the Cleveland Rams in the 1945 AAFC Draft and Chicago Cardinals of the 1946 NFL Draft ... played two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers ... a native of Odessa, Texas.
