Sun Queen Katherine Carroll-Miller is the daughter of John and Jennifer Miller. She is a current student at UT Southwestern Health Sciences Center pursuing a doctorate of Physical Science. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences and a minor in Biology and Spanish. She was a Princess on the 2015 Sun Court and was a top 4% graduate of Franklin High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, the varsity tennis team and top finalist in the “Texas Distinguished Young Women of America”, and the winner of the Better Business Bureau Essay Contest on Ethics. At Texas Tech, she was a member of numerous Honor Societies, Kappa Alpha Theta, and graduated with a 4.0. She has volunteered her time for the Court Appointed Special Advocates also known as CASA, Gift to the Mountains, the El Paso Food Bank, the Child Crisis Center and The Rescue Mission.
