Team Selection Process

The Old El Paso Sun Bowl is in the final year of six-year contracts with the ACC and the Pac-12 Legacy schools (schools span across the current Pac-12, Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC). The current selection order for each conference is:

ACC Selections Order

The ACC and its bowl partners will select teams based on several factors, including avoiding repeat appearances and matchups, regular-season win-loss records, and geographic proximity.

Pac-12 Selections Order

Due to the landscape of college football postseason play, all stakeholders agreed that the former Pac-12 programs, referred to as “Pac-12 legacy schools,” along with Oregon State and Washington State, would continue to participate in former bowl games tied into Pac-12 contracts until new contracts are established in the foreseeable future.
