2013 President's Message

Hello and Welcome,

On behalf of the Sun Bowl Association and the citizens of El Paso, I want to thank you for taking time to stop by our website. The Sun Bowl has a rich history. We are proud to serve as hosts for the Hyundai Sun Bowl for the last 79 years and look forward to our 80^th edition in December.

Think of this as a snapshot of what the Sun Bowl Association and the City of El Paso has to offer you on your visit. Our goal is to prove an unforgettable experience each year for visitors, media and teams. Our community and the hundreds of volunteers are pleased to share the wealth of culture, activities and festivities planned during our celebration.

The Sun Bowl Association plays host to the second oldest bowl game in the United States. The game and the many related Sun Bowl events bring national attention and spotlight to the region and are a tremendous stage to showcase our local attractions.  El Paso is truly a unique and compelling part of our country and features a number of outdoor activities, scenic views, things to do, and restaurants that are second to none. We welcome you to the area and hope you enjoy the beauty of our mountains, golf courses, delicious food, charming culture and magnificent weather. The Sun Bowl Association staff is dedicated to providing our guests with a once-in-a-lifetime experience that surpasses all expectations. We intend for all of our guests to leave with an appreciation of our region; the beautiful Southwest that genuinely offers something for everyone.  Several activities surround the game that demonstrate what we have to offer and will encompass football, culture, community, youth groups and will build upon our rich Sun Bowl tradition.

As President of the Sun Bowl Association, I am confident that your time here in El Paso will be an experience of a lifetime!  I know that your Bowl experience will be cherished for years to come and will be something we hope you will share with others.  I invite you to return to El Paso for business or pleasure, and we look forward to you joining us for future Hyundai Sun Bowl games!
